Article: Overcoming the Odds: The Presidential Council in Haiti
Despite the controversy surrounding the installation of the Presidential Council composed of nine members from various political sectors, there was a glimmer of hope for Haiti with the nomination of Edgard Le Blanc Fils as president of the said council. These members have set aside their self-interests to unite and coexist in an effort to move the country in the right direction.
Haitians Working Together
The installation of the Presidential Council was considered an insurmountable task. Yet, despite all the naysayers paraphrasing the old narrative “denpi nan ginen nèg te toujou rayi nèg” (“Black folks can’t work together”), they have demonstrated tremendous courage by putting their political interests aside to advance Haiti in the right direction.
Haiti Must Remain Chaotic
In the eyes of superpowers and elites, Haiti must remain a chaotic state. The U.S., France, and Canada intervened by injecting their own prime minister into the mix instead of allowing the nine Council members to choose a PM by vote. The Core Group nominated their own puppet, Gary Conille, as prime minister. A fervent employee of the United Nations and an ex-member of the past Martelly government and Clinton’s CIRH in Haiti. This was a complete power grab from the hands of the Presidential Council, which had to bow under intense pressure.
What to Expect
Gary Conille is in full control of the Haitian government as a U.S. puppet, just like his predecessor Ariel Henry. He has complete control of Haiti’s affair, rendering the council members as insignificant as a stick pole underground. He made a recent trip to the U.S. and United Nations without the members’ knowledge and approval. These political figure have refused to learn from the past. The U.S. disposed of Ariel Henry after he made the fatal mistake of paying Venezuela an enormous sum of $500 million for Haiti’s debt from the PetroCaribe Program, which Martelly and associates had stolen a large sum. Another example is the assassination of Jovenel Moïse by the elites of Haiti and the international community because he was acting independently by trying to improve the lives of the Haitian people at the end of his term. The media in Haiti has been largely paid to project Gary Conille as the favorite leader to restore peace and stability in Haiti.
