With a new government getting ready to take the office in Haiti, the political scene  still remains obscure. What type of government will President Michel Martelly introduce to the poorest nation in this hemisphere?  Is this a more of the same type of government that we are all accustomed to see in Haiti.?  Will we see a dignified government ready to make changes  to the lives of its people? As we all know change  is impossible to occur in Haiti unless it is  approve by the US Canada and French government. For instance, raising the minimum wage in the factory in Haiti from 35 cents  to one or two dollars a day will be an obstacle or “coup d’etat” to any president who dare implement such noble conditions. Asking the French to pay back the money they owed the country will be  an overthrow of the government waiting to happen. Promoting our rich agriculture for Rice, Cocoa, Coffee, Meat, Poultry which is a legal right to any independent country is asking for troubles. Questioning the extraction of our resources: bauxite, oil, gold, uranium, zyconium and iridium is something we can’t event talk about.

In Haiti anyone can easily predict the political fate of any new government taking the oath of  office.  To remain the president of Haiti for a five years term you must apply the politics of Renee Preval: The do nothing, say nothing type of politics. In which case you will be the favorite of US, Canada and French  government, otherwise an uprising against your government by some factors of the Haitians society orchestrated  by the US, Canada and France following a “Coup D’etat” will be your inevitable fate.

The Haitian population needs to really  understand Haiti social political and economic stands in the world.  Translate the emblem of the flag “L’union fait la force” to a more practical state.  The Haitians should refuse to take the streets to overthrow their government for money and weapons handed to them by invisible forces.  A well structured government will limit the NGOs and their role in Haiti.  Haiti has enough untouched resources to sustained itself and become prosperous.

In a few months we will determine the approach of this new government, but it remains a fact that the Haitian people are the only ones  capable of reversing their fate for a better Haiti where everyone will stop calling Haiti “the poorest nation in this hemisphere” I know for a fact that  every Haitian feels so bad  when they hear that specific phrase,  knowing how prosperous this nation was once before. We also  believe that Haiti needs to change its course for a better future,  but is it too little too late for this poor nation? Time will tell!

Haitians:  take control of your destiny to restore your dignity.
